boxd

The future is on serverless containers

Founded in 2026, boxd builds development environments for fast-growing engineering teams: lightning-fast, persistent-by-default, hardware-isolated, and forkable machines. Soon, 99.9% of code will be written and maintained by agents, and they'll need billions of machines exactly like these. That's what we're building.

About the role

You'll join a small team building the machines that agents and fast-growing engineering teams run on. Your job is to understand the system deeply, learn a lot, and make the platform better by using it the way customers do.

You'll exercise boxd end to end, from signup to a running machine, across the CLIs, the SDKs, the console, and the docs. Where it breaks, you chase it to a fix with a founding engineer close by. Where it's inconsistent, you make it consistent.

What you'll do

  • Test the platform end to end and turn what you find into fixes.
  • Keep every customer touchpoint consistent: the CLIs, the SDKs, the docs, the console, and the experience inside every machine.
  • Learn how a distributed system, a microVM engine, and a product come together.
  • Bring ideas, not just execution. We listen to interns.

About you

  • We don't care about a degree. We care that you've built real things in computer science, engineering, or systems.
  • You're a strong programmer who learns fast and asks good questions.
  • You're thorough: you notice the small inconsistencies most people scroll past.
  • You care about the craft and want to work with people who do too.
  • You're in Amsterdam, or excited to relocate for the internship.

What you'll get

  • A monthly allowance between €500 and €750.
  • A founding engineer as your mentor.
  • Colleagues who are exceptional at what they do, on the engineering side and the commercial side.
  • Unlimited flexibility in when you work.
  • A free gym membership.
  • A real shot at a full-time offer if it's a fit on both sides.
