Rate card

vCPU

€0.049 / vCPU-hour

While the machine is running

RAM

€0.015 / GiB-hour

On memory actually used, while running or suspended

Disk

€0.0001 / GiB-hour

On disk actually used, not provisioned

DEFAULT MACHINE

≈ €0.22 / hour

2 vCPU · 8 GiB, while it runs. Hibernated machines pay for disk only.

A running machine bills vCPU, RAM, and disk. A suspended machine keeps its memory warm for instant resume and bills RAM and disk. A hibernated machine writes memory to disk and bills disk only. Machines hibernate automatically when network activity stops, and you can turn on auto-suspend as well. Prices exclude VAT.

Pricing FAQ

How does billing work?
Credit-based. You buy credits and your organization's machines draw them down at the rate card: €0.049 per vCPU-hour, €0.015 per GiB-hour of RAM, and €0.0001 per GiB-hour of disk. A default machine (2 vCPU / 8 GiB) is about €0.22 per hour while it runs. There is no monthly plan and no per-seat fee.
What do I get for free?
€30 of credits: €5 the moment you sign up, and €25 more when you add a payment method. Nothing is charged when you add the card. It is how we keep fraudsters off real machines.
Do I pay while a machine is hibernated?
Only for disk, and only for the space actually used, not the 100 GiB provisioned. A machine hibernates automatically when its network activity stops: memory is written to disk and resumes in sub-millisecond when traffic arrives. There is also an optional auto-suspend state that keeps memory warm for instant resume; a suspended machine pays for RAM and disk. vCPU is billed only while a machine is actually running.
How do organizations fit in?
Every account is an organization. Invite your team, share machines, and draw from one credit balance. Usage across all members bills to the organization. Each organization starts with a quota of 50 machines; email contact@boxd.sh to raise it or to get larger shapes than the default 2 vCPU / 8 GiB.
What if I want to run boxd myself?
Self-host it: a single Rust binary you run in your own VPC, datacenter, or country. No Kubernetes, no external Postgres, no Redis. EU data residency, SSO + audit logs, annual license, dedicated support. It works for a two-person startup as well as for a bank's DORA / NIS2 review.
